The Supreme Committee of the Bahrain Web-based International Quran Recitation (Global Reciter, which is organized under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, held a meeting recently Under the chairmanship of Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Fareed bin Yaqoub Al-Miftah to discuss preparations for launching the 3rd edition of the competition. HE Dr. Farid hailed the partners of the competition; namely, the High Council for Islamic Affairs as Strategic Partner, Information & eGovernment Authority as Technical Partner  and Information Affairs  Authority as Media Partner. Moreover, the Competition has been privileged by other partnerships from various institutions which reflect an example of social partnership and integration between public and private sectors in support of community engagement concept pursuant to the leadership’ keenness to promote and encourage responsible growth through partnerships.

Discussion during the meeting covered the organizational matters and the third version Launch Press Conference, which was agreed to be in August 2017 at the Isa Cultural Center, in addition to setting the timetable for the competition’s stages and the honoring ceremony scheduled in April 2018. The meeting also discussed the improvements to be made to the competition, namely the creation of a new branch for Young Reciters under the age of 17 years, and rename of branches as well the allocation for the awards, which amounted to 125 thousand dollars.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the High Council for Islamic Affairs Mr. Khalid Al-Shomali, the CEO of the Information and eGovernment Authority Mr. Mohammad Al-Qaed, the Acting Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs Mr. Abdullah Khalid Al-Dosari, the Quran Affairs Director Shaikh Abdulla Abdulaziz Al-Omari at the Ministry and Quranic Completions Specialist Ms. Noura Hajji.
