“Islamic Affairs” Delegation Visits the Indonesian Religious Affairs "Global Reciter" Receives High Attention

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: The International Web-based Competition for Quran Recitation (Global Reciter) has gained remarkable attention from a number of religious institution in the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Religious Affairs took the initiative to announce the Competition, urging the concerned entities to promote it across all 34 provinces of Indonesia.

Recently delegation from the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Endowments, led by Shaikh Abdulla bin Qahtan Al-Omari, Quran Affairs Director and Chairman of the Organising Committee, paid a visit to the Republic of Indonesia with an aim to promote the Global Reciter Competition, which is held under the patronage of His Royal Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The visit came as part of a campaign carried out by the ministry inside and outside Bahrain to highlight the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the holly book and its continuous support to the Quranic centers in order to develop programs and quality projects that instill the Quranic values and spread the moderate beliefs.

The delegates visited the Religious Affairs Ministry and met with the Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic community Awareness, Professor Hajji Mohammad Amin, in the presence of Head of Quran Competition, Mr. Saifuddin Mohieddin. The Indonesian side, set to welcome their Bahraini counterparts, and stressed the necessity to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries and disseminate awareness of the Islamic noble values.

Concluding the meeting, Shaikh Al-Omari expressed his sincere appreciations for the Indonesian generous hospitality, hailed the significant role of the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs in introducing and promoting Global Reciter, and he urged various Quranic institutions and specialized centers to participate in the competition.

The Indonesian Religious Affairs received publications about the competition for distribution throughout the country. Additionally, the meeting discussed ways to benefit from specialized juries in evaluating areas of sound and performance, particularly, Indonesia is rich with scholars and academics in this regard.
