The General Secretary of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council, Khalid bin Abdullah Al Shomeli has announced that the council will be the official sponsor of the International Reciter Competition through the internet.

He said that the partnership and cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments continue in everything that could achieve common goals, including supporting programs and activities that serve Quran, in terms of its reciting, explanation and other activities that reinforce high Islamic values among all segments in society. 

“The directives of Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa is clear by calling for integration between various sector with common concerns, hence many programs and activities by the ministry got the support of the council, such as the latest Second International Quran Learning Conference that was hosted in Bahrain last year, in addition to the Bahrain Quran project that the first edition of Quran was launched under the patronage of His Majesty the King in Ramadan 1434H” he said.

The cooperation was also in the Bahrain Grand Quran Memerozing, Reciting and Explaining Competition that was held in the last 19 years. He added that the council is honored to back the competition that will be held under the patronize of His Majesty the King.

He expressed his happiness for the launching of the International Reciter Competition for its civilized meanings that showcase the international efforts of Bahrain in caring for the Quran and noble values that encourage youth and youngsters to be closer to the holy book and Bahrain’s e-government initiatives
