Al Muftah: International Reciter Competition is a Model of the Vision of HM the King for Openness to the World

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr Fareed bin Yacoub Al Muftah has announced intensive preparations of the Directorate of Quran Affairs to hold a press conference to launch the  International Reciter Competition under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa

He said that the patronizing of the event by HM the King is part of his care for Quran and interest to encourage youth and youngsters to recite, understand and memorize Quran and reflect its values on their lives. He continued that this is a model of the vision of HM the King to open up and interact with the world and to gather with Quran as a focus.

The Undersecretary explained that the competition is an international Quran reciting  competition that target those interested and with internet services around the world.  The contestant surfs to the competition’s website and record a video of live reciting, in which the judging committees carry distance evaluate of the recitations. The recitations will be sorted by five phases and the first five winners will be honored in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  He said the competition aims to serve the Quran and encourage individuals of different age groups to recite it, in addition to highlight the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to care for Quran in the international level and reinforce the efforts of Bahrain in e-government initiatives.

Through the directive of Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa and follow up of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the press conference will be held on April 1 at the Isa Cultural Center to launch the competition that will continue through its five phases until September.

Dr Al Muftah said that the press conference will include a number of speeches, including the speech of the  fficial auspices of the competition, which is the Supreme Islamic Affairs Council, the technical partner, which is the e-Government Authority, the Information Affairs Authority as the media partner and Arcapita bank as the diamond sponsor.

He said that the competition has attracted partnerships from various organizations that represent the support of the concept of community partnership and integration between organizations in the public and private sectors. This concept is backed by the wise leadership for its importance in community development and growth.

The International Reciter Competition is the first of its kind in the world and it is backed by the wise leadership, in which the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments works through the Directorate of Quran Affairs to prepare, implement and follow up the event.
