Dr Al Muftah: International Reciting Competition Aims to Highlight the Kingdom’s Quran Support

Undersecretary of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowment, Dr Fareed bin Yacoub Al Muftah received recently the CO of Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) and Senior Executive Manager and Head of Sharia Supervisory, Shaikh Abdulnasser Omar Al Mahmood, Senior Manager and Secretary of the board, Mohammed Abdullah Ibrahim and Head of Organizational Communication, Jihad Al Binfalah.

The meeting was attended by Director of Quran Affairs at the Ministry, Shaikh Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Qahtan Al Omari and Quran Memorizing Center Specialists, Noora Ibrahim Haji.

The meeting was part of the preparation of the International Reciting Competition that will be held at the beginning of next year under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This reflects the interests of HM the King to open up and interact with the world trough focusing on Quran and highlighting its great mission.

The Undersecretary expressed his gratitude of the event that aims to serve and care for Quran. “The competition will promote youngsters to recite Quran and highlight the efforts of Bahrain to care for it internationally and promote its distinguished e-government initiatives,” he said.

He hailed the golden sponsorship of the KHCB of the competition, while thanking the management of the bank for supporting such initiatives to promote community partnership and integration between public and private sectors.

The CO of KHCB expressed his happiness that the bank is a sponsor of the event. “Out of our social responsibility we are keen to provide support and encouragement to various social activities, especially the ones that reinforce religious values among youth such as competing in memorizing Quran.    

The competition is the first of its kind in the world in term of idea and coverage as it will have a big role in achieving the goals of KHCB. He valued the efforts of the Directorate of Quran Affairs in serving Quran and promote leaders to learn more of its knowledge.
